This quote by,  Thomas Macioce , CEO of Allied Stores, after Robert Campeau was able to win control over Allied Stores in October 1986 in an $11 billion dollar takeover in a “street sweep” and then proceeded to drive the company into the ground.

 In 1974, Franklin National went bankrupt. It was the biggest bank failure in the nation's history. Sindona was charged with embezzling $45 million from the bank. Stockholders. But last August, a month before Sindona was to stand trial, he disappeared. He walked out of the Pierre Hotel where he was staying, turned down fifth Avenue and vanished. He was later ‘returned” only to be arrested for an international fraud. Once with ties to the Pope, it was a far fall for him, the bank and currency exchange.
